In Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh, DM Ramesh Ranjan has caught a case of stamp theft of more than Rs 45 lakh in three deeds. Notice has been served to seven people, including a SP leader, an advocate and two women, who have stolen the stamp. If the reply is not filed by 8 October 2024, then four times the penalty for stamp theft along with interest at the rate of 1.5 percent per month will be recovered. The concerned person will himself be responsible for this.
District Magistrate Ramesh Ranjan said that the ADM and the District Magistrate are personally investigating with the concerned sub-registrar whether the people who are getting the houses, plots and land registered are stealing the stamp papers. When the District Magistrate recently investigated the big cases of registration papers, cases of stamp theft worth more than 45 lakhs came to light in three registration papers.
